You can take the Tree out of the Woods, but you can’t take the Hawk out of the Tree

I went for a walk a few days ago to get some food at a local restaurant by my house and saw this hawk perched up on this telephone pole. I took several pictures until the hawk flew away and I captured this shot. There was an interesting interaction going on between this hawk and the local gang of seagulls. Three or four seagulls circled above the hawk and took turns dive-bomb attacking the hawk and each time missing by a few inches as if to intimidate him as he relaxed upon the top of the telephone pole. I thought that perhaps the seagulls had a nest of eggs nearby that they were trying to protect.
